25. LETTERS TO HIS SPIRITUAL SUCCESSOR

25.4 LETTER NO. 4:

In this note to his spiritual successor at Delhi, the Great Khwaja Baba (R.A.) writes that the wisest men take to a life of religion and disappointment, because every wish implies disappointment and every disappointment a wish. Wisdom lies in a man who is beset with desire but gets rid of it and resigns himself to disappointment and ascetic mortification. Attachment to God is Necessary, when God grants divine sight all paths lead to him, no matter what the turn of events is. In this letter the Great Khwaja Baba (R.A.) desires a personal meeting with his successor at Delhi.
