25. LETTERS TO HIS SPIRITUAL SUCCESSOR

25.7 LETTER NO. 7:

In his final communication to Khwaja Qutubuddin (R.A.), the Great Khwaja Baba (R.A.) writes that a perfect faqir is one who is indifferent to all wants and manifestation of that eternal peace. A perfect devotee is one from whose heart everything is absent but God and for whom nothing but He is the Object. When all other thing is driven away from a true devotee’s heart, his object is achieved. A seeker should know what to seek in order to get his object. The aim is pain and heart-burning whether divine or worldly. These (pains) are the preliminary injunctions of the religious laws.
