Nizam, a water-carrier, saved emperor
Humayun while the latter was crossing the
Ganges and was about to be drowned in the
river. The Emperor rewarded him as a token
of his gratitude by declaring him king of
India for half a day, i.e. from sunrise to
sunset to commemorate his rule, the Ek-Din
Ka-Sultan issued leather coins of leather
mashkeeza and declared them legal tender.
Now his grave is situated at a distance of
hardly ten yards to the east of Sandal Khana
Masjid in the Precinct of the Dargah Sharif
of the Great Khwaja Baba (R.A.). This grave
is of white marble and is strudded with
costly jewels and equipped with a silver
canopy. But during Alamgir's visit to Dargah
Sharif, this pomp was removed because it
appeared to be a disgrace to the tomb of
Hazrat Khwaja Gtiarib Nawaz R.A.A. (peace to
his soul).
