It is an artificial lake. This lake was
constructed by the King Arno Raja of Anaji
about 1135-1150 A.D. Raja Ana was grand
father of emperor Pirtihvi Raj. The
embankment was built by Raja Anaji, which is
broad and massive. Ana Sagar is fringed by
Ghats and baradiri of white polished marbles
which was built by Emperor Sahajahan. Ana
Sagar was a water reservoir during the time
of Raja Anaji and Prithvi Raj Chowhan.
Below the baradari there is a garden known
as Dualat Bagh, laid out by Emperor Jahangir.
These two spots are now public places and
open to all for entertainment. They are now
maintained by the Municipality. The garden
is quite extensive and full of plants and
trees.
